Braid tapes for Fencing

A Braid tape, privacy strip, or privacy band is a plastic product that can be used in combination with fencing, such as Twin wire mesh fencing. Such fencing often provides a lot of visibility, which many people find beneficial. However, if you prefer a bit more privacy, a Braid tape is the perfect solution. The privacy strip can be easily woven between the fence’s mesh. The privacy strips are 19 centimetres wide, almost completely filling the 20-centimetre mesh. Additionally, you can decide whether to weave the privacy strips throughout the entire Twin wire mesh panel or only at eye level. In short, the level of privacy is up to you. Braid tapes are also suitable for Twin wire mesh gates.

The Braid tapes are made from durable plastic. The privacy band consists of a sturdy, flexible plastic strip, which is woven through the fencing mesh. This weaving method shields and encloses the fencing. The Braid tape is suitable for both Twin wire mesh and single-wire mesh fencing.

What are the Advantages of this Garden Fence?

The privacy strips from Fenceonline are designed specifically for fencing, fitting neatly between the Twin wire fencing rods. The main benefits of Braid tapes are as follows:

  • The primary purpose, of course, is to create privacy in a cost-effective way.
  • Easy to install; even if a professional installs the fence, the weaving can be done by yourself.
  • A durable product, which applies to the mesh panels as well.
  • The material is flexible, so installing Braid tapes in corners is no issue.

If the privacy strips get dirty from splashing mud, they can be cleaned easily and quickly.

UV-resistant and colourfast.

Braid tapes can be installed from post to post, so they work with separate fencing sections. However, the privacy strip can also be applied over the entire length of the fencing. Rolls come in lengths of 50 or 25 metres, making this an ideal option for many projects.

Securing Privacy Strips

You can secure the privacy strips using our special plastic clips, which can be mounted without tools or additional fasteners. These are very easy to install. We also offer these clips in the popular colours of our Twin wire mesh panels green, black, grey, and a clear plastic variant.

Wind Load and Fence Covering

In the Netherlands, we’re used to windy conditions, particularly in coastal areas. Strong gusts and storms return annually in our country. A fencing panel or screen will catch the wind. Although you may think that an “open”

Twin wire mesh fence would be less affected, this is not the case. With sufficient wind, even fencing can be heavily impacted. When using fencing covers like privacy strips, caution is advised. Braid tapes, wicker mats, and bamboo can all be attached to fencing. Ensure the posts are securely in place by using extended posts or anchoring them in concrete.

Also, consider the following:

  • Is the fence sheltered between buildings or in an open area?
  • Is it fully exposed to the wind?
  • Is the fence two metres high (or only 60 centimetres)?

Use fencing covers with good judgment, as they catch the wind. If we handle the installation of the products you ordered, we assess whether Braid tapes can be used with regard to wind load. If you choose to add Braid tapes (or wind screens, bamboo, or other products) to the fencing after our installation, please note that Fenceonline cannot provide a guarantee.
