A twin wire mesh, also known as a double rod fence, consists of metal wires manufactured from large coils of metal wire. The metal wires are machine-welded together to form a wire mesh, also known as twin wire mesh. To prevent rust formation, the twin wire meshes are first galvanized and then coated with a powder coating for a smooth and sleek surface. In addition to coated twin wire meshes, Fenceonline also offers twin wire meshes that are only galvanized. At Fenceonline, we have two variants of twin wire mesh fences: those with prongs and those without prongs, also known as prongless. Additionally, we offer two different thicknesses, namely: 6/5/6 and 8/6/8. The numbers indicate the thickness (diameter) of the metal wires in millimeters. So, the two horizontal wires are either 6 or 8mm thick, and the vertical wires are 5 or 6mm thick.
Twin wire meshes are known for their strength and robustness, which stem from the double horizontal wires. These properties make twin wire meshes a popular choice not only for gardens, industrial areas, and along railway lines, for example. Prongless twin wire meshes are particularly suitable for schools or childcare facilities. Because the fences do not have prongs (points) at the top and bottom, children cannot hurt themselves on them. For those who desire more privacy and less visibility into the garden, we offer solutions such as allowing ivy to grow on the twin wire mesh or using our weave strips, also known as privacy strips. These weave strips are available in the same RAL colours as the twin wire meshes.
Colours and Heights
Fenceonline offers various colour options. The twin wire meshes are available in black (RAL9005), anthracite (RAL7016), and green (RAL6009). Additionally, we also offer the thermally galvanized variant. The production of the twin wire meshes takes place in the Netherlands. The coating of the twin wire meshes is of high quality. Therefore, we provide a 10-year guarantee on the coating of the fence panels. If, by chance, a scratch occurs, a professional spray can with paint can be used to remove imperfections. It's good to know that minor scratches do not affect the strength, as the galvanizing process prevents rust from forming in small damages.
